Spellbinders Crosses Two card

A very simple card made using the Spellbinders Crosses Two.  I layered three of the crosses on top of each other then put a Recollections rose in the middle with some Martha Stewart punched branches.  This card is on it's way to my parent's house in upstate New York as their Christmas card.  I like the purple on it just in time for Advent.

Silver and Red card

This branch and flourish tree Hero Arts stamp from Michaels was embossed in detail silver embossing powder and then I used Xmas red Stickles for the berries.

I think this is the first silver and red card I've ever made.  Glitter paper is from JoAnn Fabric.  Embossing folder for the background is from Stampin' Up called snowburst.  Red glitter ribbon from Michaels.

Gold embossed Christmas card

I got the inspiration for this card from Lin on Flickr from here:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/bearpaw14/6447176685/

Lin used a Hero Arts Flourish Pine stamp on her card which is now retired and I don't have it, so I used a pine branch from Inkadinkadoo.  The wool felt is from Joann Fabric which you have to buy in the fabric department.  It's the only place I can find it without having to go online.  The flower die is one from Paper Trey Ink and the leaves are a Sizzix die from Stampin' Up.  You should check out Lin's blog to see her amazing cards:  http://heartshugsandflowers.blogspot.com/.  I have pinned a lot of her cards on my Pinterest boards.

Thanks for looking.

Tim Holtz Christmas Card idea

This card was made using the Tim Holtz Christmas words background stamp and the Tim Holtz Holiday Lamppost BigZ die.  I really like using pink on Christmas cards; don't know if it's the pink from the pink and purple Advent wreath that I'm reminded of or if I just like how pink goes with all the whites of Christmas.  I used white embossing powder on the stamp.  Simple and quick card to make.

Another flowerpot pocket card

This card was made using the Spellbinders Flower Pots die and Nested Poinsettia die.  The basic idea is shown on a video here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixTEdX581mw&feature=em-uploademail-new

I used the largest flower pot for the card base and the second largest for the inside white card.  This time I held the card base together with the purple ribbon which I think works better than lining the inside of the card with 1/8" double sided tape.  The card slides in and out a lot easier this way.

Anyways, this is a second card below using the Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia instead of the Nested one.  The Layered one is much smaller overall than the Nested one.

I hope the link to the video works for you.  It really is an easy card to make.  Thanks for looking!  Feel free to leave comments below if you like this idea and tried it yourself so I know whether anyone is looking at my blog or not.  You can even email me pictures of the cards you've made and I can put them on my blog for others to see.

Selling Craft Punches, Paper Packs, Embellishments

For those of you who live locally, I am having a garage sale on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 9-1pm.  Now that I am in the new house and trying to make room for all my craft items, I am finding I seriously need to downsize.  I will be selling a lot of my dearly beloved Martha Stewart and  EK craft punches, almost new and brand new scrapbook paper packs both 12x12 and smaller, and embellishments that haven't even been opened yet, most of which are Christmas themed.

Since I really need to make room, my prices will be extremely low.  I really want everything to go, but would like to see my students get the benefit of these low prices.  Therefore, I will have the sale open to just my blog readers on Friday from 3:30pm to 6:30pm by RSVP only.  If you think you can make it on Friday, send me an email at anngreenspan@gmail.com  by Thursday night at the latest and I will make sure I will be available.  If I don't hear from anyone on the blog, then the sale will only run on Saturday as planned and be open to the public.

My address is 10101 Carillon Ct in Ellicott City 21042.  If you wait and come on Saturday, other people on my street are also having garage sales.   Hope some of you can make it.

Poinsettia flower pot card

I found this flowerpot pocket card idea on Splitcoast Stampers but changed it a little for the holidays.  You can find the instructions at this link:

You  may have to join Splitcoast Stampers in order to get into their tutorials, but you simply sign up with an email address.  I added the embossing on the front of the flowerpot after it was all cut to size and edge punched.  I used the Spellbinders poinsettia die for the flowers but you could use any flower die or punch.
I also used 1/8" scor-tape on the inside of the flowerpot to create the pocket but their instructions say to tie a ribbon around the card to hold it together.  I didn't have room for the ribbon.

There is also another version of this card using the Spellbinders Flower Pot die, which I will show in a few days.  The glitter paper is from JoAnn Fabric and the gold paper is also from JoAnn Fabric but is no longer available.  It came in a pack of 8 1/2 x 11 by Coordinations.   Hope the link works for you and you can try this out.

Looks like the hurricane hit my craft room

The hurricane really didn't affect us, but this is what my craft room looks like now that we have moved into our new house...........I can barely walk into the doorway.  The shelves on the wall are too narrow to hold much of anything so they are coming down eventually.  I need to have more shelves put up that will hold larger items.  Two days before we moved into the house I had slipped on the hardwood floors and injured my leg pretty badly, laying me up for most of the month of October.  I thought I could get back to teaching classes again in November but there's no way I can muddle through this mess to pull out what I need.  I did manage to make one card while the power was out this week only to realize how frustrating is was to try finding what I needed in the craft room.  It made me realize that I am not organized enough to teach classes nor is my leg physically capable yet of hauling all my stuff into class with me.  Due to this, I will post my card ideas online and provide as much info. as I can so you can make the cards on your own at home.  Once my room gets organized and my leg heals, I hope to be back to teaching classes after the new year or sooner.
