Masculine gears birthday cards

This first 2 cards were made using the Spellbinders Sprightly Sprockets die and Darice Steam Punk embossing folder.  The copper background paper is Recollections paper from Michaels in the single sheet section of the store.  For the gears, I used Hygloss Mirror Board which is something I used to use in my preschool class all the time for mirror making crafts.  It is just a thin chipboard covered with this super shiny reflective material.  I used Hazlenut alcohol ink to cover the glossy side of the mirror board then cut it out with the dies.  It gives it a grungy look if you leave some of the silver board showing thru the alcohol ink.  There is a complete supply list at the bottom of this posting showing the materials used.

The card above was made using the same mirror board but leaving it silver and cutting out the gears with the Sizzix gears bigz die.  I used tumbled glass, broken china and faded jeans distress ink on the background.

I colored this mirror board with different blue alcohol inks and cut them out with the  Sizzix gears die and used actual metal sheets that you can get from LifeStyle Crafts for the embossed background.

More Spellbinder Sprightly Sprockets dies colored with various alcohol inks.  Happy  Birthday is from a separate embossing folder and just cut down to size.

These are the items used on the above cards:
