Valentine rosette card

You can't really see the embossed background on the white but it's there.  To make the rosette with the heart edges, simply cut out your strip of paper to be scored (yes, this is the old way of making rosettes by hand on the scoring board, not using a die) and edge punch it with the Martha Stewart edge punch before scoring the paper.

Winter cards, Penguin cards

Needed to make some birthday cards for kids who have birthdays during the winter months...............sorry the pics didn't come out that great.  I don't normally take photos of my cards this late at night due to the shadows in the room.

the snowman / snowglobe is actually a Christmas tag that came in a huge set of tags that I found at Walmart during their after Christmas clearance sale.  The stamp is from a set by PaperTrey Ink called Stylish  Sentiments

Penguin embellishments are from Michaels

Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words Love die Valentine Cards

This die from PaperTrey Ink cuts through glitter paper with no problem.  The word actually falls right out of the die as well; no having to dig it out.

If you buy one of these dies, I would suggest purchasing 3 of them so you can cut more than one die at a time and use the negative spaces as I did on one card below.  PaperTrey Ink also makes a stamp set that coordinates with this die where you can stamp the word in black then adhere the die cut word slightly to the side of it giving it a shadow effect.  The die is only $3 and the stamp set is just $5.  If you are going to be making Valentine cards, I highly recommend this die.

The PaperTrey blog shows how to stack three layers of the diecut then cover the top layer with glossy accents.  I found you can do the same thing by layering them but then heat embossing with clear powder.

A more masculine looking card to give to the guy in your life.  If you click on the card to enlarge the image, you can see the word is stamped first in black then covered with the die cut stack.

Picked Raspberry Watercolor background cards

The above card was made using picked raspberry and festive berries distress stain daubers applied to watercolor paper then spritzed with water.  I blotted the paper with a papertowel then used a heat gun to dry it.  The colors both blended and by blotting with a papertowel, it took some of the color off, leaving the whiter areas.  I then stamped the leaves on with Versafine black ink and adhered the flower.

The above card was made again using watercolor paper and the two distress stains but this time I didn't blot them after spritzing them.  I dried them with the heat gun then applied picket fence distress stain in the dauber also, covering the entire paper.  When that dried, I stamped on a text stamp in black Versafine ink and then stamped on some white leaves, using the picket fence dauber to ink up the stamp.  The flower is from the Tattered Florals die by Tim Holtz.  I used the festive berries and picked raspberries distress stains on them.  The leaves are fabric leaves from Hobby Lobby in the wedding dept. that I colored by dabbing on picked raspberries distress stain.

Spellbinders Fair Isle Pendant card

This is made using the Spellbinders Fair Isle Pendants die and a brad glued on to the middle:

Cute Critters Birthday cards

Just press an ink dauber on the paper, covering the desktop around your card from splatters.  Glue on some small google eyes and draw on the legs and feet.   I used the Tim Holtz Distress Stain ink daubers:

Christmas cards are officially done

I washed off my stamps and packed away all my Christmas / holiday cardmaking supplies today.  I'm not into making Valentine cards too much so I think I'm going to make some sympathy and birthday cards for the local church (after a long break, that is).

The addition on our house is finally done, but now we are dealing with "settling" of the house and cracks appearing everywhere.  It is so disappointing to find cracks in the walls when we just got the furniture moved in to the new rooms.  We still have a lot more work to do on the house but it's all a matter of timing.  The fence is going to be expanded to give the dogs more space first.  They love playing with each other all the time so I'm hoping with the larger yard they will run and chase each other more.

These are my two girls, first photo is of them playing / wrestling.  We got the girls at the local shelter; one is the mother of the other.  We are so glad we got both of them:

Nap time after a long day of play:

The girls enjoy having the house back to themselves again, now that all the carpenters and workers are gone.
I do too.  We desperately need a kitchen makeover but we are not ready for all that stress again.

I hope everyone has a peaceful holiday with their friends and family -- furry and otherwise.

Impression Obsession Birch Tree die

The trees and cardinals in these cards were cut out using the Impression Obsession birch tree die.  The stamped and embossed tree is the Impression Obsession solid tree stamp.

Impression Obsession Solid Tree

I saw something similar to this on Pinterest but the link was bad so I can't give credit to the original person who thought of this.  The inside of the card has the greeting below.

The spots on the tree are diamond gems but they don't show well in the photo

This is the stamp by Impression Obsession called Solid Tree:

Memory Box Tree Frame stamp

This is a very simple card to make using the Memory Box Tree Frame stamp but I cut off the frame around the branches:
Below is the stamp that will stamp both the branches and frame unless you cut off the frame like I did:

The cardinals are from the Impression Obsession die called Birch Trees:

Hero Arts Dotted Snowflake

This stamp is fairly large, filling an A2 card (4 x 5 1/4 top layer).  I used blue glossy cardstock from Hobby Lobby and stamped with Versamark ink, then heat embossed white embossing powder on it.

Hero Arts Dazzling Snowflake

This is a large wood stamp by Hero Arts that doesn't really need anything else to go with it; it is so intricate on it's own (if you click on the image it will enlarge so you can see the detail):

I stamped the snowflake on blue glossy cardstock from Hobby Lobby and heat embossed it with white embossing powder, added the greeting, and the card was basically done.

Penny Black digital stamp card

I used two different Spellbinder dies to cut out the blue circle and the white pointed circle then punched the digital stamp out with a 2 3/4" circle punch.  Added some highlights to the girl's hat and the sign, the adhered some gems as berries.  This is a folded shaped card.

This is what the inside of the card looks like:
