Cardabilities Challenge Sketch #123

Hi's time for another sketch challenge at Cardabilities.  You can join along by going here:

You have until May 28 to play along.  This is the sketch:

and here is my card:

I chose to have the giraffe's head take the place of a tag at the top of the card and the safety pin with the #1 on it for the place of the flowers and leaves.  This card will be sent to my nephew for his first birthday in May.

I used the giraffe from the Baby Animals die set by Frantic Stamper but elongated his neck so he would be taller on the card.  This is how I did it:

Above is what the giraffe looks like on the left and the one on the right is the one I elongated

Cut a strip of card stock that is the same width as the neck part of the original die cut.  Then make a cut on the giraffe at a place where you can insert the strip and be able to hide the cut, such as under a bow,  like I did.  You can also cover the cut line with one of the giraffe's dots.  I used a tiny 1/4" circle punch by EKSuccess for the dots but the die comes with a separate die for the spots and eyes.

You can make the giraffe's neck as tall or short as you want it.

We have 2 sponsors for this challenge.  One is Infinite Designs Scrapbook Studio (

the other is the Frantic Stamper (
