A Happy Camper

I have some great memories, thanks to my parents, of the family going on camping trips every summer.  My dad bought us a travel trailer when the family grew and could no longer fit in our pop-up trailer.  We would pack the trailer, hook it up to the station wagon, and go to one or more campsites on the northern east coast yearly.  My father was really into taking photos of us when we were little and that helps trigger the memories.

For the card, I used these Frantic Stamper dies:

Tall Pine Trees  09177
Transportation Icons 09515
Village Sky 09549
Pinprick Circles 09643
Stitched Scene Builder Edgers 09403
Traveling Along Clear Stamp set FRA-CL-012

Here are a few pictures of my family when we went camping.  Some were taken before my two younger brothers were born.  We started off camping in a tent, then went to a pop-up, then the travel trailer:

Thanks Mom and Dad, for creating all these wonderful memories!

To make this card, I used just two Frantic Stamper dies, the Starfall Reverse Cut  and  the Champagne Glass & Cheers (set of 2 dies).

The Starfall Reverse Cut die cuts stars of all different sizes into your paper.  I cut it using a champagne colored glitter paper and white paper.  I then adhered the cut out stars on to the black cardstock top panel.

The champagne glasses were cut out using a heavy vellum and then cut again with the champagne colored glitter paper for the inside.  I took some of the tiny bubbles and adhered them on top of the glasses with an attempt to make the glasses look like they were really filled with bubbly champagne.

The last step was to cut out the word Cheers with the same champagne colored glitter cardstock.

Happy 2016 New Year Everyone!

To the Happy Couple

Frantic Stamper has some new dies that can be used to make wedding and anniversary cards.  For this card I used the Engagement Ring die, Dapper Maurice and Strolling Monique and the Frantic Stamper clear stamp set Wedding Wishes.

Here's another card using some different silhouette dies which can be found here:

Country Heart Merry Christmas

I really like this Dazzling Sunburst embossing folder by Ectasy Crafts, available at Frantic Stamper.  It helps showcase your die as a focal point.  I used the Country Heart, cut it on red cardstock first then again on gold glitter cardstock for the outer frame.

For the trees, I first stamped a pine tree stamp by Rubbernecker onto green cardstock then cut out two of the Small Oregon Fir trees.  Then I cut one of the Small Pines and layered that in the middle of the other two trees.  The Rubbernecker stamp just gave some detail to the diecuts instead of having them just cut out of regular green paper.

The deer is from the Frantic Stamper Buck and Doe die set.  The Merry Christmas is a clear stamp from the Square Christmas Vignettes set.

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and thank you for stopping by.

Warm Wishes Quilt card

Everything that I used to make this card is available at the Frantic Stamper online store (

I paired the quilt with the Warm Wishes die since quilts are made to keep you warm.

The quilt itself was made using the inside stitched rectangle that you get when you cut out the Elementals #1 Basic Shapes.  I also used the stitched square to cut out the designer papers but they are hard to see the stitching on them.  The dsp for the quilt is Authentique paper that comes in a 6x6 pad called Christmastime Collection.

The embossing on the card front is by the Tattered Lace Lattice Bow EF.  The embossing on the quilt portion of the card is by the Sizzix Plaid EF.  The tiny flower is Frantic Stamper's Petite Layering flower cut out on red foiled cardstock.

Scribbled Roses

For the flowers, I used the Frantic Stamper Scribbled Roses and cut the rose apart from it's leaves.  Then I cut out three Pinprick Circles and attached the roses to them.  The leaves are the largest leaves from the Petite Leaves set.

Just For You is from the Wavy Banners and Greetings Clear Stamp set FRA-CL-002.

For the second card (below) I used the smallest of the Scribbled Roses and put them on a frame created by using the Four-Up Square Window die.  The wavy bottom of the card was made using the Stitched Scene Builder Edgers and the word "hugs" comes from the Valentine Confetti die set.

Two Hearts Become One

Christmas and Valentines have to be the most beautiful time of year for a wedding.  This card can be used for either of those or for a wedding any time of the year really.

I used the Frantic Stamper Strolling Monique die along with the Dapper Maurice  die and placed them inside the Country Heart  (which is also where the bow came from).  I stamped the sentiment "Two hearts become One" in the lower right corner.  The stamp is from the Frantic Stamper Clear Stamp Set Wedding Wishes which is shown here:

Sun Rays Deer Bust

Frantic Stamper has this Sunburst Card Panel die (gold) that coordinates perfectly with the Ectasy Crafts Dazzling Sunburst Embossing folder.  I embossed a piece of white cardstock and placed it under the Sunburst panel and the lines from the EF show through the empty rays of the sunburst.

Below is a picture of the Frantic Stamper Sunburst Card Panel die:

The other dies I used on my card are:

Christmas Deer

I had two cards recently come in first place and runner-up for challenges at the Cuttlebug Mania so I thought it would be fun to see if  I can get a third one to win, so I'm entering the above card in the Cuttlebug Mania Christmas Animals challenge which can be seen here:

I used the following Frantic Stamper dies on my card:

Snow Globe Fancy Deer / Large Fancy Deer / Stitched Scene Builder Edgers / Sun Rays Quilted Card Panel for the sun / Country Hearts for the bows

The card below is the one that just won the embossing challenge with Cuttlebug Mania which can be seen here:

And this one was a runner up for the Thank You challenge which can be seen here:

Happy Birthday 20 yr old

My nephew, Zach, is turning 20 in a few days.  He is studying Pharmacy at WVU and is such a hard worker.  But when he isn't studying or tutoring others,  you can find him on the court playing  basketball.  I knew I had to make a basketball card for him this birthday.

When I was at Hobby Lobby last week, I found this really cool basketball textured paper and a basketball stamp by Stampendous.  I stamped the basketball image on the textured paper and heat embossed it with black embossing powder.  Then I manually cut out three balls for the card.

The Happy happy happy die is from Frantic Stamper, along with the dies I used on the inside of his card.

Small Snow Globe cards

Frantic Stamper has a small snow globe that is so fun to work with.  The possibilities are endless as far as what you can put inside the snow globe.  I also had some help with ideas from a friend, Kathie Smith, since she also has this die.  I'm entering this card in the CraftyHazelnut's Pattern Paper challenge here:

I cut out the base of the globe with aqua blue foiled cardstock and the top with acetate.  If you don't have acetate that cuts in your die cut machine, you can use a 1.5" circle punch to punch a piece of acetate for the globe top.

The snowflake inside the globe is the second smallest flake in the Snowflake Flurries set.  I cut out the word "hugs" from the Accessory Words #3 die set and mounted it on to one of the flags from the Flag Trio die set.  The entire snow globe is on one of the Pinprick Circles.

The background paper is also from Frantic Stamper.  It is by Echo Park called  Hello Winter.

Here is another card I made using the small snow globe:

For this card I used the Hill with Pine Trees Edger inside the globe,  the Tall Pine Trees along the bottom of the card, Starfall Reverse cut for the stars, and the Stitched Petal Squares for the background behind the snow globe.

A Partridge in a Pear Tree

I was working on making a partridge in a pear tree card when Kia on the Frantic Stamper design team posted her beautiful tag with the partridge and pear.  I had been trying to figure out how to use one of the Frantic Stamper tree dies with the pears and just couldn't get them to work together.  Then I saw Kia's tag and realized "I don't need to use a whole tree, just use a branch" like Kia did.  Thanks for the inspiration, Kia.

So I used the Bird on Pussywillow Branch die and inked the bird to look as much like a partridge as I could.  Frantic Stamper does have a partridge die but I don't own it.  I had one large pear from the Juicy Pears die set  already cut out of gold foil cardstock so I wanted to be sure to use that on my card somehow.  I cut the Stitched Oval out and embossed it with a leaf embossing folder.  Then I cut out two of the smaller pears with gold glitter paper.

Hopefully the background music sheet paper makes you think of the song "The 12 Days of Christmas" when seeing the partridge and pear tree.

This is another card I had made using the Juicy Pear die:

Who Remembers This?

Who remembers trucks like these:

The Frantic Stamper die called Bob's Old Truck can be cut in any combination of colors easily enough to mimic the real old trucks, even though I messed up and gave mine a white roof.

Other dies I used on my card are the Small Pine, Enjoy word die, Stitched Petal Squares and Rectangles, and the Die'Sire Embossing Folder called Knit One Pearl One which is also from the Frantic Stamper store.

My family never had a pickup truck; we always had station wagons.  With 7 kids, there's no way we could have 1) afforded an extra vehicle like a pickup and 2) fit everyone in it.  I remember taking trips with all 9 of us packed into a station wagon with no air conditioning driving all the way down the east coast from upstate NY to Florida in the summer.  I don't know how my parents ever put up with us driving all the way down there and back.  Thank goodness the trip back is always shorter, right?

Large church cards

Frantic Stamper has this die called the Large Church which cuts out the church with all the intricate details on it such as the shingles on the roof, the window openings, front steps, and an attached tree.
I chose to cut the church out both in black and again in silver foil cardstock for two different looks.

For both cards, I decided to back the window openings with yellow cardstock to make it seem like the church was open and welcoming.  The first card was my attempt to make the church look like an Advent card with the pink and purple background.

For the second card I propped the church up on a stitched rectangle which is cut when using the Elementals #1 Basic Shapes die set.  I also used the Northern Star on both cards.

These are the Frantic Stamper dies I used on my cards:

Large church 09674
Elementals #1 stitched rectangle 09306
Northern Star 09246

Bob's Old Truck

I can't believe I overlooked this die in the Frantic Stamper store until was fun to use and very easy to  make cards with.  I can see myself cutting out this truck in all sorts of "old truck" colors for future cards.

The die is called Bob's Old Truck.  The tree in the back is the Small Pine.  I chose to put the truck on a white Stitched Oval in order to have it stand out from the tree background papers.  Then in order to have a greeting stand out as well, I used the "Merry Christmas" stamp that comes in the Triangle Trees Clear Stamp set and stamped it on the oval.

To give the red truck a distressed look, I cut it out on red foil cardstock and lightly ran a sanding block over the top in all different directions, giving the most sanding to the fenders to make them look even older.

Topiary tree

I used the Frantic Stamper Snow Globe Triangle Trees die and put it in the flowerpot from the Solid Egg and Potted Tulip die set.  Attached a little bow tie from the Fancy Sirs Hats and Mustaches and the focal point of the card was done.

I also used the Stitched Ovals and the Checkerboard Band and mounted them on an embossed card front.

Diagonal Snowflake Greetings

I'm trying to use up some of the Christmas patterned paper that I have a ton of so the background on this card worked out well.  I layered the Diagonal Card Sketcher in gold on top of the pattern paper and then cut out the word "greetings" which comes in the Diagonal Card Sketcher set.

I then cut out two of the snowflakes from the Snowflake Flurries set and two of the Snow Globe Triangle Trees which I first heat embossed in gold using the Triangle Trees Clear Stamp set.

Square Vignette NOEL card

When I saw the Frantic Stamper Clear Stamp Set -- Square Christmas Vignettes, I knew I was going to heat emboss them with white powder on foil cardstock.  These clear stamps emboss great and when using foil cardstock, plus I love how clear the images are when you emboss on the foil.

First I started by cutting out the Square  Scallop Vignettes using foil cardstock.  Then I stamped the clear stamps onto the cut outs since I could see right through the stamping block to perfectly center the stamps.  I heat embossed them with white embossing powder and most of the card was done.

The last step was to center the Square Scallop Vignettes across the top of the card and then stamp the NOEL stamp that also comes with the Square Christmas Vignettes clear stamp set.  I used silver embossing powder for the NOEL.  I adhered a silver and white ribbon across the card front, tied a bow, and then adhered a red poinsettia brad.  I backed the brad with two of the Petite Leaves that I cut out with green foil cardstock.

Here is the stamp set  I used to make this card.  The dies are listed above;  just click on the highlighted words to see pictures of them.

Lattice Heart Scribbled Rose

Valentine cards aren't normally my "thing" as I rarely make one but with the Frantic Stamper December release dies, it's hard NOT to make a Valentine card.

You can see all of the December dies here:

For my card I used the Scribbled Roses die and cut it out with gold foil cardstock.  Then I cut it again with red foil cardstock and once more with green glitter paper.  This gave me all the little pieces to adhere back into the gold outline.

I'm on this kick lately of making black and white cards.  There's just something so elegant about black and white for weddings, Valentines, or any romantic theme.  I cut the Lattice Heart out of black cardstock then manually cut a piece of white cardstock to fill in behind it.

The word "hugs" comes from the Valentine Confetti set.  I love how tiny it is.

Sorry about the crooked watermark -- still learning how to do these things but I think I finally have it figured out.

Scribbled Roses

Frantic Stamper has a new die set out called Scribbled Roses.  It looks like this:

When I cut out the roses in three different blues, I had all those inside pieces left over so I used them randomly within each rose to give them some more color and dimension.

The first card also uses the Accessory Words #3 die set for the "sending hugs" words.  The embossing used on card #1 is this:  It's a big 8.5 x 11 folder but really nice.

Card #2 uses a clear stamp set called Many Thanks.   I was inspired by the layout for this card from a card by Lin of Hearts, Hugs and Flowers here:

 Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Tree Confetti cards +1

This card was made using my favorite Christmas paper -- The Christmastime Collection by Authentique which is available at Frantic Stamper.

I rounded two opposite corners of the card base and the top layer with a corner rounder so they would match the four smaller Stitched Petal Squares (09737).  After cutting out the squares, I embossed them with a wood grain embossing folder and added some of the tiny trees from the Christmas Confetti die.

The finishing touch was to add the Tied String (which is a die) and the center flower.  The flower was cut on wool felt using a combination of the Small Layering Posies and Medium Layering Posies.  The Frantic Stamper dies cut through wool felt in one swipe and the softness of the felt gives such a nice added touch to the cards.

Here are some other cards I made using the same paper pad by Authentique and the Stitched Square Petals and Stitched Rectangle Petals:

Other dies on the above card include the Happy Holidays and Tied Strings by Frantic Stamper.

I used the Snowflake Flurries die by Frantic Stamper for the two snowflakes on the above card.
