I've been wanting to make a camp related Father's Day card for my Dad since he used to take the whole family on camping trips in a pull along RV every summer when we were little. I'm glad I decided to buy the Impression Obsession Car & Camper die set as it fit perfectly for what I had in mind.
While looking through the dies at the Dies R Us online store, I also needed some tree dies and found these Memory Box Consenza Trees that come as both the Border Outlines and the Border Backgrounds. I kept the backgrounds to my trees various shades of green but I can't wait to use these trees again with bright backgrounds such as pink, purple, orange and yellow.
To make the card, I started by diecutting a 5" circle then placing the stitched hills and Stitched Cloud Edger on the circle. The sun that is peeking out under the cloud is one of the Sue Wilson Dandelion Clocks. You could also use one of the dies in the Sue Wilson Exquisite Poppy set too.
After the Memory Box Consenza Trees were added, I worked on making the car and camper. This took a bit of cutting over and over in various colors of paper to get the black for the tires, the silver door handles, etc. but my Dad is worth it and it was fun at the same time. I wanted the windows to look like real windows so I adhered the entire car and camper to a piece of vellum then manually cut around the outer edges of both of them.
After the car and camper were cut out manually with the vellum backing, I placed each back into their dies so I could emboss the lines on the windows. I used a tiny stylus, and since it was vellum, I could see right through to where the lines were:

If you click on any of the links above, you will be taken right to where the dies are in the Dies R Us store so you can see what they look like. If they happen to be out of stock when you are looking in the store, don't worry because they get restocked very rapidly; just keep an eye out or put them in your wish list so you don't forget about them.
