Collecting Seashells Embossing Folder -- Day 3

After I posted my Collecting Seashells card on some Facebook card making group sites, I came across this technique of using Stazon after embossing the foil card stock.

Here's what this Stazon technique looks like with the Collecting Seashells embossing folder:

Foil cardstock colored with alcohol inks, embossed and then swipe a black Stazon ink pad across the entire card.

Silver foil cardstock colored with alcohol inks, embossed then swiped with a black Stazon ink pad.

Silver foil cardstock colored with alcohol inks, embossed then swiped with a dark blue Stazon ink pad

Before I embossed my foil card stock, I dripped on various alcohol inks to give the background some color.  Alcohol inks dry almost instantly on foil card stock.  However, you do have to let the Stazon dry for a least 15 minutes before touching your card.

Here are some other cards with the same technique:

Glossy photo paper that was colored with alcohol inks, embossed, then sanded down (above card)

Silver mirror board colored with alcohol inks, embossed and sanded down

Blue double sided foil cardstock (Recollections) colored with blue and white (pearl) alcohol inks, embossed and sanded.

There are so many different kinds of paper you can use for this technique.  These are just a few.

Thanks for taking a look -- Ann

Some people have asked me about shipping policies with Ecstasy Crafts.  Even though Ecstasy Crafts' headquarters is located in Canada, if you live in the United States, your order will come via US Postal Service the entire way and will NOT be affected by the Canadian postal service.  In fact, if you order $75.00 or more, your order will ship for FREE and come via the USPS.

  1. Thank you for the video tutorial, Ann! And for all the examples of papers and products we all have to make these beautifully embossed masterpieces! Love this style and can see it would be quite addictive! I am going to dig out some long-ago-made backgrounds and see if they will work! It would be great to use up some of the unfinished type things I started! Hope your trip is full of happy memories! Xxoo

    1. Thanks also for the tip about shipping from EC. I was hesitating ordering from them because I was afraid shipping was going to be extravagant. I may have to go make a wish list. Those wax colors have really captured my attention. ;0)
