Happy Holly Days

Impression Obsession's Challenge called Chill Out is still going on.  You have to use cool colors on your card and all Impression Obsession products.   For me, cool colors are silver and blue.

I recently got this Holly stamp by Melissa Gordon from Impression Obsession and was curious what it would look like if I heat embossed it.  It's a gorgeous stamp with so much detail.  It looks beautiful inked up and did just as well with embossing powder.

Impression Obsession also has this Holly Days stamp which I thought was perfect for the Holly card.

You have until 7pm Central time tonight to enter the challenge.

Pilgrim Wishes

This is my final card using die cuts from the November release of The Die Cut Club.

There were a lot of die cuts in this release.  The leaves and pilgrim with the cornucopia are from The Die Cut Club.  I mounted them on a fancy oval that I cut with a die I had and stamped the greeting for a very quick (and adorable if I do say so) card.

Happy Thanksgiving

I have had this background paper for years but never had the right time to use it until now.   This cornucopia and leaves are part of the November release from The Die Cut Club

I colored a small doily with distress ink and then stamped it with the greeting stamp.

The Unscary Scarecrow

Of all the Fall themed die cuts in the November release from The Die Cut Club, this scarecrow has to be my favorite.  He just looks so happy and the crow obviously is not afraid of him.

The scarecrow, pumpkin, and leaves are all from the November kit.  I simply used a fancy oval for the background and some coordinating green paper and the card was done in less than 5 minutes.

The monthly kits are available on a one time basis or you can sign up for a subscription and receive a new kit every month.  Such a quick and cute addition to your card making or scrapbooking.

Christmas Tags

Tags are so much fun to make yet I don't make them often enough.

The 2 snowflake tags were made using the Large Ice Crystal by Joy Crafts.  It's such a pretty snowflake.  I decided to cut it right down the middle to get two tags out of it since by itself it was fairly big for one tag.

The middle tag was made using the Marianne Design Collectibles Eline's Santa.  This die has 8 pieces (some are connected to cut out together such as the beard / mustache)  but goes together so quickly and easily.

I also used two Frantic Stamper dies for the trees:  the Large Blue Spruce up front and the Evergreen Trio in the back.

I used some stitched tags that I had for a long time but could have used these.

This Santa is going to be so cute on my nephew's scrapbook pages.  I can already think of other cards to put him on and will try to do so in the next few days.

All of these products are available at Ecstasy Crafts online store.

Fall Leaf Cards

Both of these cards were made with leaves and an acorn that are part of the November release from the Die Cut Club.

I had stamps that I haven't used in a long time and thought they would work well on a Fall card, along with the beautiful glittered leaves and acorn.

Happy Scarecrows

These adorable scarecrows, leaves and pumpkin are all part of the November release from The Die Cut Club.  Each month you get a collection of die cuts that are theme related.  You can purchase a collection by the month individually or sign up for a subscription where you receive them all on a month to month basis.

Christmas Stocking

I had been wanting this Tropical Leaves Card Panel background die for a while.  I think it's so elegant looking and will be beautiful cut out on foiled card stock.  But for today's card I wanted a green background so I cut it out on some glitter card stock that I had.

The stocking is by Marianne Design.  It comes with a snowflake and heart die as well.

To give my stocking a knitted look, I embossed it with a folder very similar to this one by Marianne Design called Knitting.

Design Folder Extra - Knitting

The candy cane die is by Dee's Distinctively.  I cut it twice; the second time on the back side of the red glitter paper so I could have the candy cane a mirror image of the first.

The finishing touch was to add a bow so I used one from the Easter Icons set and adhered a red gem to the middle.

All of these products are available at the Ecstasy Crafts store.

Christmas Gatherings

Ann here with a card that reminds me of when my family would go out in the woods to chop down the perfect Christmas tree.

I first made the background by swiping a piece of watercolor paper through some watered down distress inks on my non-stick craft mat.  Then I stamped the trees.

I cut Bob's Old Truck out of some dark blue foil card stock and sanded down some of it's parts.  I then cut out one of the Impression Obsession Birch Trees and cardinals that come in the same set.

Impression Obsession - Dies - Birch Trees           Impression Obsession - Dies - Evergreen Trees      Frantic Stamper - Dies - Buck & Doe

The trees in the front left corner of the card are the Evergreen Trees by Impression Obsession.   The deer is from the Frantic Stamper Buck and Doe set.

Don't forget to play along at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog for your chance to win a gift voucher to the Dies R Us Store.  A new challenge begins on the first and fifteenth of every month.  Be sure to Follow Us on Facebook too.

Thankful for You Double Z Fold Card

This is my first Double Z Fold Card.  It's called that because when it folds up, it's like a Z in both the card itself and the fence (which doesn't have to be a fence, could be anything).  The last photo shows the "Z" from an above view.

The card base is very easy to make.  Cut a piece of paper 4 1/4 x 11" for the base and another one
2" x 11" for the part that the fence in on.  Score both landscape at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2.  Adhere the front skinny piece to the card AFTER you have put your dsp on.

I used the following Impression Obsession products on my card:

DIE 046  Butterfly Set

DIE 117  Small Deer

DIE 006  Bare Tree

DIE 038  Grass

DIE 066  Leaf Cluster

DIE 202  Pumpkin Patch

DIE 350  Pumpkin Set

DIE 028  Fence Border

DIE 354  Sunburst Background

DIE 203  Tiny Apples

DIE 204  Bushel of Apples

DIE 343  Hill Landscape Layers

DIE 388  Thankful

Doily Star Cards

Yesterday I showed an ornament that I made using the Marianne Design Doily Star.  Today I made a few cards using the same Doily Star die.

The above card was cut with a pink vellum background using Sue Wilson's Poinsettia Mini Background and then layered on top of a piece of silver foil card stock.

The card below was made using the same dies but with the pink vellum under the Poinsettia panel which I cut out on white glitter card stock:

Other dies used to make the cards:

All of these products are available at the Ecstasy Crafts store.

Snowflake Ornament

This Doily Star by Marianne Design is so intricate yet cuts out beautifully.  I wanted to do more than put it on a card in order to give it the attention it deserves.  I cut two of the star and adhered them to the top and bottom of a rolled up piece of card stock.  This is the side view:

You could literally decorate this with any flower die (rolled roses would be gorgeous).  I chose to use the Nellie's Choice Flowers 2 and cut them out on some dotted vellum.  For the leaves, I used the Sue Wilson Laurel Leaves and Maidenhair Fern.

I also plan on using this die for a winter scrapbook page for my nephew and placing his photo in the center of each "snowflake".

All of these products can be found at the Ecstasy Crafts store.

Happy Fall

I love watching squirrels play in the yard, especially when they chase each other up a tree and jump from branch to branch.

This squirrel, acorns and "Happy Fall" sign are all part of the November release from The Die Cut Club.

To make the card, I simply mounted the die cuts on blue rectangle and framed it with a brown one.  I don't think I could make a quicker card and have it turn out so cute.  All the glittering on the die cuts is done by hand and so perfectly you would swear a  machine did it all.

Happy Cat

Isn't this Cute Kitten just adorable?  He's so happy looking; I wanted to show why he was happy -- he has a huge pile of yarn balls to play with.

The ball of yarn die and the word "meow" are both from the Cat Icons set.  I  framed the card with a stitched frame from the Elementals #1.

These dies are all from Ecstasy Crafts.
