Purple and Black Valentine

I had this alcohol inked purple background for a few months but never had a use for it until now.  After the purple alcohol ink was applied to some glossy photo paper, I embossed it with the Nellie Snellen Swirls embossing folder then rubbed a black Stazon Ink pad across the raised areas.

The next part was to try to find something that would mimic the purple color of the background.  I took out my container of gilding wax and found the Amethyst worked great.  I rubbed the wax on some white card stock, then cut out the Nellie Snellen Flowers 2.  This is my absolute favorite flower die.  You can do so much with the petals; I chose to pinch the centers of each with tweezers then layer them with a piece of foam tape between them for more height.  The black center of the flower comes in the Sue Wilson Orange Blossoms Complete Petals set.

The black heart is from the Joy Crafts Heart set.  The leaves are the Dee's Distinctively Pair of Small Leaves and the word "hugs" is from the Frantic Stamper Valentine Confetti set.

All of these products are available at the Ecstasy Crafts store.

Did you know Ecstasy Crafts has a new blog?  Check it out here for some great card ideas.
