Bamboo Rose Heart

I'm really liking these Memory Box Distressed Windham Collage dies (gold corners).  To make the Altenew Bamboo Rose stand out with the gold and against the heart background, I heat embossed it with some gold embossing powder then watercolored it in with some distress inks.

The black panel was embossed with the Die'Sire Knit One Pearl One EF and the background on the heart was stamped with the French Script stamp by Rubbernecker stamps.

I'm entering this in the Wed. Simon Says Stamp Challenge:  Anything Goes

The Crop Stop Blog Challenge where I used distress inks, Tombow Mono Adhesive roller, Scor Tape, Creative Expressions clear glue, and Cosmic Shimmer Gold embossing powder.

Angel in the Stars

Monday's challenge at Simon Says Stamp is Star Light, Star Bright; you have to use shiny stars on your project.

I used the Sizzix Bigz Stars die and cut them with gold foiled cardstock.  The angel is by Die-Versions, the snow background is the Sue Wilson Snowfall embossing folder and the snowflake embossing behind the angel is a Sizzix folder.

I'm also entering this in the SSS Wed Challenge:  Anything Goes

Sizzix Winter Card Front, Card 3

This is my third and final card using the Sizzix Winter Card Front die set.

The framing around each tree is a cumulation of three different previous cuts layered and offset slightly.  The green trees are leftover pieces from previous cards as well.  The background paper is from My Favorite Things Subtle Plaids 6x6 pack.

Sizzix Winter Card Front, Card 2

This is another card that I made using leftover pieces from other cards with the same die.  I cut the Sizzix Winter Card Front die with gold pattern card stock this time and filled the trees with leftovers.  The background is a piece of paper from Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid 6x6 pack.  Merry Christmas words are by Penny Black.

Sizzix Winter Card Front , Card 1

I haven't used this Sizzix Winter Card Front die in a few years, so I thought it was time to revisit it.

This is one of those dies that leaves you with a lot of extra pieces to make more cards with.  I'll have a post for the next two days showing more cards I've made using those leftovers.

For today's card, I cut the die with white card stock and adhered the white outlines for the trees on a piece of blue card stock.  Then I adhered the pieces for the trees from leftover cards.  I ran the entire card front through my Cuttlebug with the Stampin' Up Square Lattice embossing folder.

The framing is made using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles cut four times for some dimension.  The snowflake is from Impression Obsession and the word "believe" comes with the Sizzix die set.

Hope you stop by tomorrow for another card with this die ~ Ann

Happy Holly Days

The stamps on this card are both by Impression Obsession; Holly F7001 and Holly Days A5254.  I've had the Holly stamp for a while but never gave it much love.

I inked the stamp in my MISTI using Forest Moss Distress Ink just two times to get complete coverage.  I then used a Forest Moss distress marker to make a thin outline around the edge of the stamp and to accentuate the veins in the leaves.  This stamp does all the work on it's own -- all I had left to do was to color in the berries.  I didn't color the leaves at all.

This is the first card I've made using a variety of background papers and blocking them like I did.  I've seen other card makers use this method but for me, it's hard finding coordinating papers unless I break down and buy a pad of them.  I have so many single pieces of background paper from years ago that I really don't like spending money buying more papers but this Christmastime set by Authentique spoke to me.

I'm entering this card in the Impression Obsession Challenge:  'Tis the Season and these challenges:

Crop Stop (I used Authentique papers, Tombow Mono Adhesive, Distress inks,  and Scor Tape)

Sledding Dogs

Monday's challenge at Simon Says Stamp is Tear it Up where they want to see torn paper on your card.  I ripped the edges of the snowbanks on my card.

I had been wanting to make a dog sled type of card for some time now.  I cut the child off the sled and replaced him with two Impression Obsession puppies.

Products used on my card:  Impression Obsession Puppy set die142, Sizzix Kids and Sled, Inkadinkado Trees stamp

Snowflake Corners

The current challenge at Impression Obsession Stamps is 'Tis the Season.  This time I decided to make a card for the Christmas season unlike my first card which I made for Thanksgiving.

I used the following Impression Obsession products on my card:

CC177 Wooden Plank Cover-a-Card Background Stamp
DIE236  Merry Christmas
DIE100  Small Snowflake Set
DIE098  Holly Leaf Cluster

To make the card, I stamped the Wooden Plank on white paper using my MISTI and Hero Arts Soft Granite Shadow Ink.  Then I cut out the Merry Christmas 3 times but it didn't stand out enough on the background so I adhered the words to a piece of white cardstock then cut around the edges, leaving a small white border all the way around.

The snowflakes were cut out twice each and adhered on top of each other for a bit of dimension.  I cut the small snowflakes out of silver foiled cardstock and the larger ones out of a silver shimmer paper.  To finish the snowflakes, I added some tiny white pearls to the centers.

Cross Stitched Die

Another card for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge:  It's a Stitch Up where you have to use real, die created or faux stitching.  I've used a die that created the cross stitching around the striped rectangle layer.

Today's card was made using the following products:  Sue Wilson Austrian Collection - Salzburg, My Favorite Things Die Namics Flower Trio, Martha Stewart Frond punch, Tutti Designs Hugs, Lawn Fawn Small Cross Stitched Rectangle Stackables, enamel dots from

Thanks for Giving card

The current challenge at Impression Obsession is 'Tis the Season.  My card is for the Thanksgiving season; I may possibly make another card later for the Christmas season.

Here's how I made the card:

To make the leaves, I heat embossed some copper embossing powder after stamping the Tree Line stamp on white card stock.   Then I made a mask so I could line up the leaf shape and see exactly what embossed areas I would be getting inside the leaf shape.  I did this for both the larger leaf and the smaller leaf.

After making the mask and lining it up where I wanted it cut, I then slid the die back into the cutout and taped it in place.  Then I ran it through my die cutting machine.

After all the leaves had been cut, this is what the Tree Line stamp looked like (the "grey" leaves are actually my cutting plates beneath the paper).

IO Leaves DIE030
IO Small Leaf Set DIE095
Cover-a-Card Tree Line Background Stamp by IO Stamps
Various Distress Inks
Smoothie Blending Sponges

MFT Quilt Square Cover Up, Take 3

Monday's Challenge at Simon Says Stamp is to use stitching on a card:  real, die created, or faux.  The "stitching" on my card is die created and around all the tiny white triangular pieces.

Products Used:  MFT Die-Namics Quilt Square Cover Up, Dee's Distinctively Religious Greetings dies, variety of papers from my stash

I'm also entering this card in the Word Art Wednesday challenge.

This is the previous card I made with the same die.  Can you tell I used the leftover pieces from one card to the next?

Wednesday's Challenge at Simon Says Stamp is Snow White.

I got the inspiration for my card from Lin's beautiful card here.  If you've never checked out Lin's blog, you should do so.  Her cards are gorgeous.

2 Fall Cards Using Negative Die Cuts

To make the card, I first stamped the Impression Obsession Cover-a-Card Tree Line stamp and heat embossed it with copper embossing powder.   Then I cut out two of the leaves and swiped them through some wet ink on my craft mat.

I cut out the word Thankful on some orangish foiled cardstock and stamped the coordinating words "For You" on one of the leaves.

Products used:

Spellbinders Grand Ovals
IO Stamps Cover-a-Card Tree Line Background stamp
IO Leaves DIE030
IO Thankful DIE388
IO MC656 Thankful Clear Stamp set

The second card I made uses the negative left over when cutting out the word Thankful on the orange foiled card stock:

After adhering the foiled cardstock to a piece of white cardstock, I then glued the loops from the letters "f" and "l" back in place.

The background stamp on the oval is the Impression Obsession Cover-a-Card Fluff stamp.

It's Fall!

To  make my card, I first stamped and heat embossed the Cover-a-Card Tree Line Stamp with copper embossing powder.  I then cut the image into some 2" wide strips  and matted two of them on a white piece of cardstock.

Next I used some watered down distress inks on my craft mat and swiped my cut out leaves thru the wet ink.

I used the following products from IO Stamps:

Cover-A-Card Tree Line Background Stamp
DIE 030 Leaves
DIE 095 Small Leaf Set

Simon Says Christmas Gift Tag

Today's challenge at Simon Says Stamp is to make a Christmas gift tag.

Is it hard for anyone else to switch gears from making Halloween cards to making Christmas cards?  I need time to clear off my desk and put all the Halloween dies and punches away and get out the Christmas ones.  I can't stand a messy desk.

My tag was made using the Marianne Design Tiny's Christmas Stocking die.  The snowflakes are also from that die set.  The papers are from Echo Park's Hello Winter 6x6 pad.
