A Cardinal in a Pine Tree

One of my favorite card making techniques is using gilding wax on embossed images.  I find it relaxing to rub the wax over the raised surfaces for some reason.  I also found that if you make a mistake with the wax, you can easily  remove it with a rubber pencil eraser.

So, I first embossed the card panel with the Leane Creatief Pine Twigs EF then rubbed on the Holly gilding wax with my finger.  I started light and did several layers to get the darker color.  I then used a red distress marker and some gold Smooch to cover the berries and dots that were also embossed.

Products Used:

  2. This is so wintery and pretty Ann! The cardinal in the corner is a wonderful pop of color. I've still never tried gilding wax. Every card you've made using it is so pretty too!
