I have 5 nieces and 9 nephews and am always trying to find unique birthday cards to make for the nephews.  They are all teenagers or older (except for Ronan) and the hardest group to make cards for in my opinion.

I started off by blending some Tumbled Glass and Bundled Sage distress inks over the front of an A2 card then embossed the front with the Darice Steampunk embossing folder.

Then I cut out some of the gears in the Tim Holtz Gearhead set using silver foiled cardstock.

I'll be entering this card in these Simon Says Stamp challenges:

Thanks for stopping by ~ Ann

  1. Love the gears and the awesome background! Perfect masculine birthday card!

  2. I agree with you Ann, that teenage boys are the hardest to make cards for. This card is just perfect for your teen nephew! Great background colors and texture. Thanks for the inspiration!

  3. Wow! I love how this turned out! Yes- teenage boys are quite the challenge to create for, but you nailed it here. I like how you used both bold and subtle colors and I especially love the way the gears go from dark to light. It's almost like an ombre effect and it's brilliant! Thank you for continuing to share your beautiful work with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!
