This is my first time ever making May Day baskets.
Growing up, my mother used to make these for us but she'd hide them and have someone place them on the front porch, ring the door bell, then run away. Normally they are filled with candy and dropped off on May 1st.
This tradition has pretty much died here in the U.S., but I'd love to try to bring it back. There is a senior center back home that makes hundreds of these baskets every year as a way to raise money for the community.
The baskets I've made are very easy to make, and I will have instructions in another post later on. I looked at tons of videos on YouTube and photos on Pinterest but could not find any baskets that looked anywhere like the ones my mother used to make.
I'll post more once I get into making some flowers to put on the baskets.
