He Ain't Heavy......He's My Brother

Growing up in upstate New York in the Adirondack Mountains, my 4 sisters and I did a lot of sledding.   Today's card brings back such fond memories for me.

One time my father, four sisters, and I went down a pretty steep hill on a single toboggan, only to find out there was a stream at the bottom that had not totally frozen over.  The toboggan went almost to the other side of the stream before the weight of my father on the end of the toboggan broke through the ice.  Needless to say we all got soaked and had to call it a day.  Talk about a memory I will never forget......thanks, Dad!

I used the following products:

Sizzix Boy and Sled BIGZ die
Stampin' Up Pretty Pines
Martha Stewart Aspen Snowflake edge punch
Impression Obsession Birch Trees (cardinal)
Distress Inks to color the pinecones

I'm entering this in the ABC Christmas Challenge:  "D" is for distress
(I used distress inks and I distressed the edge of the snowbank)

Thanks for stopping by ~ Ann

  1. Love the title of your post, Ann! It’s a favorite song of mine. Your fun winter card is beautifully done! Then I read your childhood memory, and thought how loving your dad was to toboggan with his children. It’s nice hearing such things. xx
